How the colours can be built into a harmonious and inspiring scheme

Whether the project type is presentational, graphic or architectural, our many years of experience allow us to provide enormous insight into your colour questions. We recommend that attention is given to the colour scheme at an early stage since it can often prove to be one of the strongest elements and may well influence the way other aspects of the design are carried out.

Interior Colour Design

Underlying our interior colour work is a fundamental concern to ensure that all the colours used in an architectural space provide an inner mood that nourishes the activity taking place. We do not follow a recipe for this, but seek to discover the unique, individual aspect for each situation.

Our approach to design involves a number of other concerns, some of which we have highlighted in the display on the left hand side of the screen. Click to open...

Carved Coloured Windows

Digital Colour Management

Wherever possible we prefer to work on a project from the outset, helping the designer and client to visualise how the colour will affect the building. This in turn will have a positive impact on the detailing.

Interior Methodology

  1. The crucial first stage is to create a colour palette. Usually this process is carried out by ourselves and is outlined under the heading: Advice Methodology (Click Advice) Under special circumstances we are also able to work with predefined palettes.

  2. The demands and constraints of the architectural design must be assessed to determine which features of the interior could best support the colour palette. Part of this assessment will also involve decisions on suitable materials and techniques (e.g. Lazure, flat paint, fabric, etc.) Invariably several possibilities will be presented for discussion at an early stage before a particular scheme is fully developed.
